TVN24 Online — Kremlin menjelaskan apa alasan Presiden Rusia, Vladimir Putin, tak mau memberi selamat kepada Rishi Sunak yang terpilih menjadi Perdana Menteri baru Inggris.

“Inggris saat ini merupakan bagian dari negara musuh. Jadi tidak ada (ucapan selamat) yang terkirim dari Telegram (aplikasi pesan singkat),” ujar juru bicara Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, sebagaimana dikutip dari AFP.

Bahkan, Putin tak langsung memb erikan komentar atas terpilihnya Rishi Sunak sebagai PM Inggris. Sangat berbeda ketika Liz Truss terpilih, Putin langsung memberikan komentarnya walaupun berisi komentar negatif.

Saat itu, Putin menyinggung fakta bahwa Truss terpilih dalam pemungutan suara yang dilakukan partai berkuasa di Inggris, Partai Konservatif, bukan warga seluruh negeri.

“Orang-orang di Inggris Raya tak mengambil peran, dalam hal ini, dalam pergantian pemerintahan,” ujar Putin ketika berbicara di forum ekonomi di Vladivostok, Rabu (7/9).

“Elite yang berkuasa di sana memiliki pengaturan sendiri. [Pemilihan pemimpin Inggris] jauh dari demokrasi. Orang-orang di Inggris Raya tak mengambil peran dalam pergantian pemerintahan,” kata Putin melanjutkan pernyataannya tersebut.

Selain itu, Kremlin juga sempat menyampaikan pesimisme terkait hubungan Rusia dan Inggris usai Rishi Sunak terpilih jadi PM.

“Sejauh ini kami tidak bisa melihat pijakan harapan bahwa akan ada perubahan positif di masa yang akan datang,” ujar juru bicara Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, sebagaimana dikutip dari Reuters.

Peskov mengatakan, bahwa Rusia tetap tidak akan menutup pintu bagi Inggris untuk memperbaiki hubungan.

“Rusia selalu membuka pintu dan siap mendiskusikan isu-isu tersulit di meja negosiasi, tapi tidak merusak kepentingan kami,” kata Peskov.

Seperti diketahui, Sunak terpilih menjadi PM Inggris menggantikan Liz Truss yang memilih mundur usai menjadi PM selama 45 hari.
